Privacy Policy
What Puzzle Lounge handles about you, why, and how. 日本語
Effective: October 5, 2026. If this English version and the Japanese version differ, the Japanese version prevails.
1. Introduction
The Puzzle Lounge team ("we") handles information about the people who use Puzzle Lounge (the website puzzlelounge.app, the games played there such as Sudoku, Jigsaw and Minesweeper, and their apps; together, "the Service") as this policy describes.
Information particular to the Jigsaw (puzzlelounge.app/jigsaw/), such as friends, your own pictures and replays, is also described in the Jigsaw privacy policy.
2. What we collect
We do not collect passwords, real names, postal addresses or phone numbers. To let you play, we handle the following.
- Player number: a random number made on your device the first time you open the Service. It is used only to tell players apart and is never shown to other players.
- Name: the display name you enter (up to 12 characters).
- Play records: your level and experience, and each game's records (stages cleared and their stars, best times, the days you solved the daily puzzle, and so on).
- Ranking records: your name, time to solve, the number of hints or mistakes, and the information used to check that a puzzle is being solved.
- Rooms for playing together: the room code, the names of those who joined, and the board.
- Google account information (only if you sign in with Google): the identifier Google issues for your account, and your email address. We receive nothing else, such as your name, photo or contacts.
- Transfer information: transfer codes for continuing on another device (valid for 10 minutes).
- Purchase information (only if you buy something): what you can use, from when until when, and a reference that confirms the purchase. We do not receive payment details such as card numbers.
- Connection information: your IP address is used only briefly, to stop floods of requests, and we do not store it. Our hosting provider's logs do keep connection records for a period.
3. Why we use it
We use this information only to:
- provide the Service, alone or together with others;
- share your level and records across every game;
- let you play with the same name, level and records on every device you sign in on;
- build and show rankings;
- make what you have bought usable on every device you sign in on;
- prevent cheating and abuse;
- fix problems and improve the Service;
- answer your enquiries.
Your email address is used only to show you which account you are signed in with, and to deal with your enquiries. We do not send you newsletters or advertising email.
4. What other players can see
- Your name is shown to people who view the rankings and to people you play with in a room.
- Top ranking records (names, times and so on) can be seen by anyone.
- Your player number, email address and transfer codes are never shown to other players.
5. What is stored on your device
We do not use cookies for advertising or analytics. Your settings, name, player number, play records, boards in progress and the like are stored in your browser's or app's storage (such as localStorage). Pages and code are also stored on your device so the Service opens faster next time. All of this is removed when you clear your browser's or app's data.
When you sign out, the games' records and your name stored on that device are put aside, and the device becomes a new guest.
6. Outside services
The Service uses the following outside services. Each handles information under its own policies.
- Cloudflare, Inc.: servers and data storage. Data may be stored on servers outside Japan.
- Google LLC (Sign in with Google): signing in. Google shows the sign-in screens; we never receive your password.
- Google LLC (advertising): used when ads are shown. Google may collect advertising IDs, device information, IP addresses and the like, and use them to serve ads and measure them. See https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
- Payment services (such as Google Play): purchases. Payment details are handled by them; we do not receive them.
7. Sharing with others
Except where required by law, we do not give your information to others without your consent. We may entrust it to the outside services above, to the extent needed to provide the Service.
8. How long we keep it
| Name, level, records, rankings, Google account information, purchase information | Until you delete your account, or until the Service ends |
|---|---|
| Rooms for playing together | Deleted automatically 24 hours after last play (7 days for the Jigsaw) |
| Information used to check a solve in progress | Deleted automatically after 3 days |
| Daily puzzle rankings | Deleted automatically after a set number of days |
| Transfer codes | Invalid after 10 minutes |
| Sign-ins in progress | Invalid after 15 minutes |
9. Seeing and deleting your information
From "Account" on the Puzzle Lounge front page you can change your name, sign out, and delete your account. Deleting your account removes your name, level, records, ranking entries, the link to your Google account and your purchase information from every game in the Service. This cannot be undone.
For anything else, write to support@puzzlelounge.app. We normally respond within 30 days.
You can also remove the link to your Google account from your Google account settings (https://myaccount.google.com/connections). This does not remove your records from the Service; to remove those too, delete your account.
10. Children
If you are under 13, please get a parent's or guardian's consent before using the Service.
11. Security
We take the measures needed, such as encrypted connections and restricted access, to keep the information we collect from leaking or being lost.
12. Changes to this policy
We may change this policy when needed. For important changes, we will let you know in the Service or on this page.
